Viticulture adapted to rugged mountain terrain

First planted in the late 1980s to quadrilateral cordon-trained vines—a heritage training system that asks more of the grower but gives more in return. Each vine supports four cordon arms rather than two, requiring meticulous attention throughout the growing season. With age, spacing, and structure on their side, these vines reward the extra effort with greater longevity, balanced yields, and fruit of layered complexity.

The eastern facing vineyard is carved directly into the slope of Spring Mountain.  The trellis pattern mirrors the mountain’s natural contours. The 2,093 elevation, the terraces and the integrated drainage ensures optimal water flow and erosion control. An intentional design choice that speaks to both sustainability and stewardship. The soils are a mosaic of volcanic rock, gravel, clay, and loam—each contributing to nuance, texture, and tension in the wines they produce.
